Breifni Heymann - Illustrator
Illustration based around narratives and narrative creation. I'm going to be making books and stories and prints and poems.
I'm largely interested in examining the use of religious iconography to convey narrative and ideas. How these ideas can relate to the current ideals of Western Psychology (id, ego, superego/hell, purgatory, heaven). I'm also interested in iconography with which power is depicted, such as a ball and sceptre, or a rearing horse.
One way that these ideas can be conveyed are through narratives (i.e. prints, comics, novels). I really want to explain and display all my ideas and research, to make the abstract feelings around powerlessness and monstrosity feel less alone. Trying to make sense of how chaotic the Earth is.
This website is to display the range of products I've currently produced, as well as having made a space to put my writing and research that goes along with them. Hopefully after a while it'll be a fun place, somewhere that some people can relate to.
It's also a place for my portfolio, so if anyone is looking to hire me as an illustrator they can contact me and view my work through here. In the future I'll be working to develop books, story books that can be found in the Shop section of this site.
